The food was pretty good for the cost. On site parking with narrow spaces. Nice looking place with some retro style motel rooms at the back. Food was OK, didn't change my life but was filling and tasty if a bit expensive. Staff were accommodating and polite. Lots of different areas to eat like in the bar or restaurant depending on the customers likes.
Our visit was a disaster. The room wasn't ready. When thet eventually got it ready, it was not clean especially the toilet & bath. Family room too crowded & poorly arranged. I offered to pay for a late check out of no more than an hour because my wife was very ill. But the Manageress didn't have the courtesy to look at me when I was making the request. And she rudely said "I want you out now". Shocking. The Owner Manager thought that my 50 year old Brother in Law was my son. Not tactful.
Saving grace was the brownie dessert which hit way above the grade of the rest of the very mediocre food. The interior is functional, clean and spacious but lacks any real decor. Food is marginal (we ate from the Standard Faire menu). For example the chips were soggy and had an off taste.
Have been here on two consecutive Saturday evenings and the food and service could not have been more contrasting. The first day the staff and food were exceptional .The second day my wife picked the same meal and it was completely different in presentation and from the description on the menu. Also the staffs enthusiasm was lacking apart from one young man who was very helpful and apologetic for the difference in meal.
Exceptional value for rooms. A very warm welcome and staff go out their way for you. Highly recommend the menus for both bar meals and restaurant. Breakfast caters for everyone and is very tasty. Location is spot on for Plymouth and surrounding areas.
