Nice interior but prices seem to be going up. Cheaper options in town.
Stayed and ate here in early Feb. Room was a bargain for the night for 3 of us. Rooms clean and with good facilities (bath + shower en suite). Music was loud and went on till around 12, but you would be daft to expect anything else from a room above a pub on a Saturday night. Continental breakfast provided and couldn't ask for a better location.
Great looking pub. Good sized portions for the price. Shame they don't do food on a Monday though... Luckily we were in the area all week.
Went on a Friday night - meant to do food until 8.30 or 9pm.Went in at 8.15 & they'd stopped serving, so ended up at the excellent Indian restaurant that allows you to bring your own wine & beer - saved us quite a bit! Pub seemed nice - busy & friendly. Sure they'd get more business if they did food later, but then I suppose it is Cornwall....
Food is average, basic pub grub, atmosphere is good. Nicely rejuvenated inside, good range of gins. Staff are good.
